About
(accWelcome! I'm Kinga, the person behind the designs at Blue Sky Building Designs. My journey here has been quite an adventure, starting with a Master's in Structural Engineering back in Poland – a background that really shapes how I approach design, blending creativity with a practical, technical edge. Before arriving in Australia, I also spent a few years in New Zealand working for an engineer and later for a project home builder.
When my husband (a New Zealand carpenter), our two boys, and I arrived in Australia in 2011, the Northern Beaches quickly became home. Working as a house draftsperson for a local builder was an amazing learning experience, getting to grips with local planning and Australian building rules.
In 2015, I decided to build my own dream – Blue Sky Building Designs – with the goal of creating homes that are not only beautiful but truly work for the people who live in them, from the Northern Beaches to further afield. Even though we moved to the South Coast in 2020, I'm still very connected to my Northern Beaches clients, using technology to bridge the distance and making regular trips back.
As a BDAA accredited building designer (#6951) in Low Rise, I meet national standards set by the Building Designers Association of Australia. This means you can feel confident knowing you’re working with a professional who is recognised for meeting strict benchmarks in skill, reliability, and ethics. Accreditation also requires ongoing professional development, so I stay current with building codes, design trends, and sustainability requirements — all to ensure your project is in safe hands. A Full Range of Services
Blue Sky Building Design offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Building Design: I consider aesthetics, practicality, and compliance in all my designs.
- 3D Models: To help you visualize the design, I provide a link to a 3D model that you can open and view on your own computer, at your convenience.
- Building Plans / Drafting for Approvals: I prepare detailed building plans, including site plans, compliance information, demolition plans, floor plans, elevations, and sections, ready for approval.
- Consultant Coordination: I work closely with consultants to ensure a smooth approvals process.
- Council and Certifier Liaison: I liaise with both council and private certifiers to make the approval process as seamless as possible.
- Detailed Construction Plans for Builders: I extend my services to provide builders with comprehensive plans that include detailed specifications for wet areas, joinery, window schedules, electrical plans, and construction details, ensuring everything is clear and precise for construction.
